Internship

Officially started my internship yesterday at Petaling Jaya.

Learning new things is fun and this keeps me going daily.

But the only bad thing is the horrible jam everytime I finished work. Gosh. What is the use of highway?

Note to self: Must be thankful for a car. 
                     Must be thankful M'sia has good highways.
                       Must be thankful that I got an internship in a MNC.
                         Must be thankful for a brand new day. 
                           Must be thankful for knowledge.

Sem Break Job

Semester break is coming to an end soon. And here I proudly say that I spent my semester break doing something very useful. Hehe. For me it was better to work than rotting at home sleeping, eating, watching tv and going online over and over again.

I worked as a Technical Assistant with UMW Petrodril (M) Sdn Bhd at Plaza Sentral. It's an oil and gas company so basically I learnt engineering stuff instead of chemical stuff but hey it was really an eye opening experience. Maybe I am a future engineer in training? Haha =P

Monday to Friday

This is what I do Monday to Friday; work from 8-5.30pm at Plaza Sentral. As usual I take the KTM but stop at KL Sentral this time. Work is so far so good and I am learning lots of engineering stuff. It's a whole new perspective for me. And there is a coffee machine! FOC somemore.

Still, I would be counting my days to weekends.

1 Million Hours

Not really in the mood to blog lately so pictures only ya. 

Company's 1 million safe manhours ceremony at Impiana KLCC yesterday.

It was because there was no any sort of injury at base and off-shore for 1 millions hours.

And there was all my favourite food, seafood!

Found a job and started working since Wednesday.

Thankfully it's 8-5.30pm, Monday to Friday job.

BUT, I have no motivation to work.

So Full

Just got back from kukus sampan with CMC, Tomato & Yuen Si & her two friends. This time we tried Restaurant Hoo Jiak which is behind Honeymoon, Kepong. Overall the seafood choices were okay but the BBQ selections were not good and their so-called chocolate fountain does not taste nice at all. Had a great time laughing with them once again =)




Oh ya talk about work today. Haha the telephone was so quiet because the system had some problems which made me extra boring. Uni work mostly done, magazines all finished reading and I ended up daydreaming most of the time today and a little bit of syok sendiri time. Hee =P




I am too full to sleep now. Facebook can't load, don't know why. Oh hopefully tomorrow would be another eventful day. Yeah!

Too Hardworking?

That was one of the comments I got today when I went back to Sony. I will be replacing the current receptionist whom is on Raya break till Friday. Well, it is at least better than staying at home fighting over the TV with the father or wasting time going online with the damn slow internet connection.

I miss the big mirror and clean toilet.

Back at Sony?

Yesterday was actually my official last day at Sony Malaysia Sdn Bhd because I went back to replace the new receptionist whom was on leave yesterday due to driving test.

Really glad that I worked in Sony for the past 6 weeks. Although the duration was short but then I learned a lot of things and meet many new friends. There were bad situations here and there but hey, that's working life.

Can't Read?

Today I "vomited blood" countless time due to the new lady.

She mistaken Caylie for Leslie although it is written clearly Caylie's name on the document. She also wanted to call Leslie but luckily I took a look and told her. When I told her, she insisted that it was Leslie. We argued a few times on this small matter. What?!

A colleague left a packet of DHL document where inside is a whole stack of documents. When she called for pick up, she told the DHL agent it was a parcel although written on the consigment that it is document. Oh no

Another DHL document need to arrange for pick up but the colleague who pass it to us did not mention that it is urgent. When she call, she mention it was very urgent. By the way, a few hundred ringgit etra charges for urgent doc. Faints

She simply allow strangers going into the meeting area without asking what are they here for. Oh gosh

A letter received written Nancy from xxx department but she insisted that there is no such person. Need glasses perhaps?




I am not going to continue already because I am half bagging my laptop's keyboard.

My Opinion

Note: A different style of blogging.

That new lady is so LCLY!
Sorry for my language but I have no patience for that lady anymore! Luckily tomorrow is my last day with her. Faints

Maybe because she's 27 years old and have many years experience in hotel receptions and booking, so she sort of refuses to listen to what I teach her and pandai-pandai herself.

Yesterday she so damn clever to simply receive goods and I mean 100 magazines from a supplier and put it at the reception counter when it was suppose to be sent to down a level.
So how?
A female colleague had to push a trolley up to my level to take the goods.

She also made a few clients pissed off by keep asking for their names because she could not catch it. There was even a client that spoke extremely slow and shoot me a bu shuang look.

I just wanted to inform her that there are a few people that has same names. So it is better to ask for departments. When I was telling her this, she was actually just looking at the door instead of me. How rude!

Even my colleague was talking to her but she was flipping a magazine instead of looking at him!

Every morning and evening, it's just a simple work to on the lights, the display laptops and tvs but yet she forgets. Okay fine, maybe she is still not use to it but hey it's just on and off only what. On my first few days, I had to do everything without anyone reminding me.

Today she actually took down a message for a college asking for sponsorship. I was like, what the heck?! That college wants money from the company, of course lah they call back. Marketing people sure would scold her.

I have told her that when calling people to take documents, make it short because many of them are very busy but she has to say this,

"Good morning Mr. xxx. I am xxx, receptionist. You have a document from xxx that receive this morning courier by xxx. "

That was yesterday. Today she made it shorter due to yesterday someone told her no need talk so much. But that person is not me.

There are many other things but I think I would stop. Well, it's her problem if she does not want to listen or ask me anything.

In conclusion, she's a slow learner. Maybe because I learned everything myself by asking people and getting scolded more so my expectations for this new lady is higher. But then, she so pandai-pandai, so just let her pandai-pandai until someone breaks her egoism lah.

End of complain.

Mask

Actually I wanted to blog about the new lady that would be replacing me but maybe I shouldn't judge her that fast, after all today was just her first day. So tomorrow only talked lah. Haha

Today I wore mask in KTM and everyone was staring at me. Hello! Prevention is better than cure! Besides, I really don't get some of those Malays. Why can't they use hand to cover their mouths when coughing or sneezing? Is not like their hands are occupied with bags or what. If so, use the shoulder lah!

The pandemic flu is getting more serious daily and yet these people are so unhygienic. Hmm, don't understand English?

Crabby

I was suppose to blog yesterday but due to something more important, I postponed it to today. What was so important? Haha, this is.




Eating crab at Tak Fook, Aman Puri! However, I totally ban the Salted Egg Crab because it was too salty and made my tongue felt weird.




The picture above is my working area. There are 2 tvs but one shows football boring and the another shows Sony's products without any sound. Being a receptionist, I improved on communication skills and made a lot of new friends. Hee




Oh ya, a warning to all. Do not go to The Garden's Food Garden to eat. The food there charges you 5% tax. Yesterday I ate Shibi Ramen from Sam Sam Korean Food and it tasted just like maggi mee curry. There goes my RM 8.95. Today, I ate Hong Kong Egg Noodle Soup from The House of Noodle. Such long name but it's actually Wantan Mee! Faints. Just put there Wantan Mee lah!




My colleagues were talking about all the nice food pictures that tempted them to try this food court but it's 'For Illustration Purposes' only. Haha, everyone kena tipu =8

Don't know what is wrong with Marsha in this picture. Haha. Both of us were so free that we decided to take the lift up to penthouse just for the fun of it.




Then finally she decided to pose like this. But what pose is that Marsha? Haha. Once we were up at the penthouse, it looks kind of deserted so we quickly came down but it took us 10 minutes from level 28 to level 11! Regret going up.

The Clash of 2 Heads

2 departments' manager were in an argument over some products on which department should accept it. Manager A almost scolded me for even calling her but luckily my superior was there to save me. It was Manager B's mistake. It is so obvious that nobody likes Manager B because her mood is like a weather. Unpredictable.


There are some people on my extension list which I blacklisted. Haha. Because when I called them, they tend to show temper. Hello? I am calling you because of your customers and stuff, yet these people would tell;


"Not my stuff"
"Call someone else"
"Why you call me?!"
"You call wrong person," bla bla bla


whereas on the invoice/receipt/delivery order etc it stated their names. Weird huh?

Today a lady came for interview to replace my position. However the interview took only about 10 minutes and my boss came out saying they didn't want her because her English was very bad. So the search continues.

This is Ciew Wi, HR intern from Whicitas State University, USA. A very sweet and soft spoken gal. Quite envy her because she got the chance to study abroad. She will be going back to USA in September.

I got my results slip yesterday. Was a little bit disappointed to find out that I only scored A for the 2 credit hours' subjects. Well, still satisfied because I scored A and A minuses for my major, though.






Some new friends I met in Sony. Jinny currently studying in UPM and Wendy from TARC. Oh oh oh, 2 more weeks to work then I am back to UKM as a 2nd year student. Yes, I am no longer a junior! Haha
